Instrumentation
- Standardized Testing Equipment: High Volume Instruments (HVI 1000), and other fiber testing devices are installed as per manufacturer specifications and regularly calibrated with USDA Cotton since 2005. We have multiple Trash Shirley Trash Analyser of make STATEX & MAG, with automated digital weight measurements to provide error free weight measurements.
- Calibration Standards: Certified reference materials and calibration routines are maintained for instrument accuracy and recorded.
Laboratory Environment and Conditioning
- Temperature and Humidity Control: WGCTL maintains a standard temperature of 22°C (±2°C) and relative humidity of 65% (±2% RH) at all times during testing and conditioning. This is crucial for accurate and consistent fiber measurements.
- Continuous Monitoring: Our cloud based Online system gives Temperature and humidity monitoring on continuously basis using calibrated sensors or electronic data loggers
- Insulation and Building Design: WGCTL facility is well-insulated, to minimize heat and vapor transfer.
Compliance and Accreditation
- Quality System: We are actively pursuing NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) certification, which will further validate our competence and enhance the credibility of our test reports in both domestic and international markets.
Inter Laboratory Proficiency Testing (ILPT)
- At White Gold Cotton Testing Laboratory we regularly participates in ILPT Bremen Round Table tests as it demonstrates our commitment to global benchmarking and quality assurance. The ICA Bremen Round Trials are internationally recognized proficiency tests open to all cotton testing laboratories worldwide, allowing each participant to compare their results with over 100 other laboratories across more than 35 countries. These trials include a wide range of testing methods—such as HVI, AFIS, and other instruments—covering parameters like strength, length, maturity, and fineness. This regular participation is a critical tool for maintaining and demonstrating high levels of accuracy and reliability in cotton testing.
Data Management
- Record Keeping: All environmental data, calibration records, and test results are documented and traceable for quality assurance and compliance.
- Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS): A digital system is the heart of functioning of WGCTL and provides seamless sample tracking, data management, and reporting. (LIMS) significantly enhances the speed and precision of its testing processes. The integration of LIMS automates and streamlines sample tracking, testing workflows, and reporting, thereby reducing manual errors and accelerating turnaround times. This results in improved data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance, essential for maintaining high-quality standards in cotton testing.
Sample Handling and Conditioning
- Sample Conditioning Area: At White Gold there is a dedicated area for conditioning samples to equilibrium before testing is essential. Preconditioning rooms is equipped with best Precision Air Conditioning Units to maintain required Temperature & Humidity.
- Sample Identification: Our LIMS provides us with clear labelling and tracking of samples from receipt through testing and reporting.
Space and Laboratory Layout
- Adequate Space: At WGCTL sufficient space has been provided for instruments, operators, and samples. The lab area is optimized to minimize energy costs and support efficient workflow for staff.
- Workbenches and Storage: At WGCTL we have dedicated workbenches with cupboards and conditioning shelves required for sample preparation and storage.
Power and Air Supply
- Reliable Power Supply: WGCTL has uninterruptible power supply (UPS) essential to protect sensitive instruments. The UPS should provide sufficient backup to allow for safe shutdown in case of outages.
- Compressed Air: Instruments are cleaned, dry, oil-free compressed air at the pressure and volume specified by the manufacturer. Air dryers, filters, and sufficient air volume are maintained for optimal instrument performance.
